Benefit Sharing with Warby Ranges Landcare Group

We are shining the spotlight this July on the Ngalan Wala initiative as part of Community Benefit Sharing Program at Glenrowan Solar Farm, which we own and operate in North East Victoria.

Ngalan Wala, which means ‘Our Water’ in Bangerang language, is being jointly delivered by the Bangerang Aboriginal Corporation, and Warby Ranges Landcare Group.

Building on a 30-year strong partnership, the groups have recently established a Bangerang ranger crew, empowering Traditional Owners to protect the local biodiversity and build their waterway restoration knowledge.

The crew is joining forces with Warby Ranges Landcare Group to restore an ephemeral wetland system in South Wangaratta. They are pictured here together, getting ready for work.

Echoing Bangerang Elder Uncle Dozer’s words, “healing country can heal mob”, we are humbled to be able to support an initiative that brings people together in their mission to care for their environment, and each other.
