More than $130,000 of funding applications were received this year from 13 local community groups as part of the Glenrowan Solar Farm community benefit sharing program.
Pacific Partnerships’ Managing Director Simon Nicholls said this is an extremely positive response. “With the help of our wonderful local Community Fund partner, Into our Hands, and our hard-working Glenrowan Solar Farm Community Reference Group members, we have assessed a high standard of applications this year and are grateful to all those who took time to prepare their submissions,” he said.
“With a total of $50,000 in funding distributed across nine outstanding projects, the successful initiatives will support social, environmental, and economic outcomes for the Rural City of Wangaratta.”
Into Our Hands Chair Matt Joyce said this year’s funded projects reflect a strong commitment to sustainability, renewable energy, and community wellbeing.
“The selected initiatives range from renewable energy installations to social wellbeing programs, showcasing the diversity of the local community’s needs and innovative solutions,” he said.
